Who I am

I am an artist who paints tigers. The tigers in my artwork draw inspiration from traditional Korean folk paintings. I reinterpret these tigers with a contemporary sensibility, using them to represent and narrate the essence of our times. The tigers in my paintings are semi-abstract, playful, and non-aggressive. They are not just figures in my artwork; they may also be reflections of your own self.

"I specialize in art education (Western art), Chinese, and Asian traditional art.

I create works using oil painting and Asian traditional black ink together. To me, materials are merely a means to convey my artistic world. The distinction between Eastern and Western art holds no meaning in the world of art.

On top of creating my own works, I've been teaching art for over 20 years. Through art education, I've tirelessly strived to create an environment where students can express themselves without fear and truly unleash creativity. I believe in giving students ample time for brainstorming, showing genuine interest in their artistic results, and guiding students to self-evaluate and evolve their work."
